Cardz 4 Guys has a great challenge this week to use ink and/or paint.
So out came the inks, dies and punches!
Let me take you down memory lane...
Let me take you down memory lane...
I actually made small A2 size cards, something that is very difficult for me. They are each backed with pattern paper in different ways.
It's always fun using old stash.
The image is actually a long-ago-retired image from SNS, who closed their doors last year. I enjoy playing with old dies, too. Long ago, when Spellbinders first introduced their "Wizard" machine, I immediately jumped on with this fun die set. Why did I prefer Spellbinders from the beginning? The easy way their dies emboss and ink to make that crisp white frame:
One of my favorite vintage dies proves that "fancy" works great with masculine cards. Some of the cars are semi-colored with Prismacolor pencils:
This Spellbinders Label die set sports a neat shape, but has clean lines:
Here are the same dies but with blue hues. Copic Multi Line pens were used to create a bit of linear interest on each card. I like this inking technique because it is fast, accident-free, and always pretty!
Products:
- Dies: Spellbinders - Labels Four, Wonky Rectangles, Floral Ovals.
- Punches - EK Success circles, tags, fancy squares
- Images: car - SNS, Just For You - Impression Obsession
Challenges:
- Cardz 4 Guys #239 Use Ink and/or Paint 3/3 (3 brown tone inks and 3 blue tone inks plus Versafine Clair for the images)
- Retro Rubber #129 AG using old stamps (my car set is from 2006, and the sentiment is probably that old as well) 3/7
- A Place to Start (Feb 3) Masculine 2/28
- Pammie's Inky Pinkies #2008 3/2
Thanks for visiting!

These look brilliant Donna. Your inking is amazing!! x
Wonderful cards and image. Great job as always!!!
Great designs and I love that car image, well done
These are all gorgeous Donna, what a great image- looks wonderful in both colourways teamed with the die cut frames and papers. The 'fancy' frame works as well as the simpler ones- never would have thought of using it for a masculine card!
xx
Four beautiful cards.

How cute.
What a fabulous collection of masculine cards, like the vintage look and your die cuts are great with these images!
I love these and your color blending is gorgeous. These are perfect guy cards. Your work is amazingly.
Wonderful cards for all us old folks. Love old cars. Great shading techniques. Interesting to do monochromatic card.
Donna, these are incredible! I love the antique car and the way you inked around the edges of each one while it was still in the die. Great paper choices, too. :-D
Can you imagine tooling around in this automobile and going top speed of 25 mph? That had to be kinda scary back then. These are really some great cards. I especially love the blue hues. I wouldn't mind a Sunday drive in one of these. [Bunny]
Are you kidding me, this is more cards than I post in a week! They are all just fabulous, and the dies are all beautiful. Back in the day that these cars were around, everything was more elegant, so your wonderful dies are perfect My husband is a car guy, and he and a group of guys restored an 1934 something over two summers. Was a fun project for all.

Oh, gosh, I love these cards so much! The colors, the stamp, the designs -- fantastic! You did great with the size. Funny, but I have a hard time with a larger card. Fancy dies, such as the oval, work great for vintage designs because everything used to be so ornate way back when. These are all beautiful, Donna!
Oh Donna, these are stunning! I love the monochrome look which really fits in well with the vintage style, and I'd have never thought of using that fancy oval die (one of my favourites too) on a masculine card but it works beautifully. Thank you for sharing at Cardz 4 Guyz.
You're amazing! What a fantastic array of masculine cards. I need to case these as I have a few masculine birthdays coming up this month and next. Thanks so much for all this masculine inspiration!
Fabulous masculine vintage cards with a memorable vintage car image. Both colour combinations look striking and yes the oval pretty die cut sure does work for a masculine card x. So inspirational....Thank you x.
Oh Donna these are just wonderful, love the coloring you gave to these and the papers work fantastic with it.. I Love the spellbinder dies for the same reason and need to do it more :)So LOVE these!
Oh Donna!! I love these sooo much! Seriously always looking to make masculine cards as this is most of my family and this car image would be perfect for my dad as he loves them! Love your tip about those particular dies with the crisp edge left from inking around it too! BTW, you've done a great job with the colors for the antique look of the designs! A2 sized cards just happen to be great for mailing and I like that these are masculine too! Thanks for sharing friend!
These are gorgeous, Donna! I love the vintage vehicle image and the fancy dies you used to frame them. What an awesome set of cards, and now you're ready for all the upcoming masculine birthdays! I love making A2 cards - that's about the only size I make any more. What size do you usually make, 5x7?
Hi Donna. It has been such a long time. I'm so glad to see you continue to make such beautiful cards and share them with everyone. You are truly an inspiration. I do have a question though. It has been such a long time, where do you get your animations at the end of your posts? They are so cute. Karalee
hahaha these are my go to size! :) I love this collection! And I love that they are masculine cards--I struggle so much with them! The colors are great as is your design and layout. That antique car is magnificent too! Well done!
Fabulous cards, Donna! I always enjoy seeing different variations on a project theme! Your cards are perfect for our challenge this month at A Place To Start and we thank you for such a wonderful and inspiring submission.

These are all wonderful! Such a great masculine selection! Always happy to see you at PIP Challenges!

I love the vintage look of your cards. It's so cool that you made so many - you now have a great stash.
Your teamie,
Sheila
Donna, what guy wouldn't love to receive any of these? Answer is ZERO. Love your inking in both hues but especially the blues since that's my mermaid color. I completely agree about the "old skool" Spellbinders dies. I recently bit the bullet last year and bought their 6x6 and A7 Card Creator sets and am adding to my collection of their A7 embossing folders. It's hard to find cover dies for A7. EVERYTHING seems to be made for A2. Anyway, you have a fab inventory of guy cards I know will be appreciated. XXO
A fabulous collection of cards, Donna - great use of the dies too.
Thanks for joining us at Cardz 4 Guyz.

These cards are amazing, love the vintage look on each one of them, and you picked the right dies to frame them.
Thank you for playing with us at RETRO RUBBER.

These are so cool, Donna! I am not sure which I prefer more, the brown or the blue. I love both of them.
Hugs Monica
