Anything Goes at Jan's Digi Stamps #3 and a Freebie

Waving Hello to all my on-line friends!
Yesterday we were at 83 (28C) unusually warm degrees.
This morning, we will awaken to 65ish (16) and temps will continue going down. For the next three mornings we will be in the mid 30s (1-2C) and hoping for no frost.
When drastic changes like this occur, it hurts the farmers, flower growers and wildlife. But life is good compared to my dear friends who live in severe weather conditions and where the sun doesn't shine much.

Bringing you lots of "sweetness" today in the way of peppermint candy!
You deserve it!

It's time for our third ANYTHING GOES Challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps where a $10 store credit is given to a winner every challenge!

Facebook - Shopping - Pinterest - Challenges

For Cyber Monday, Jan announced that her digital sets 25% off Cyber Monday thru Friday this week!

My card features a "silently released" Christmas set packed full of cute images and sentiments, called Holiday Gingerbread!

The precolored images are especially detailed.
But I've opted to make mine a house of peppermint, rather than a house of ginger.

Using the individual gum drop, I created a border in my word processor and lined it with lace and scallops. The green adds just the right amount of color to bring out the various shades of pink:

The scene is colored with Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Spun Sugar Distress ink and Victorian Velvet Distress ink. Each area was individually "painted with glue" and the colors of glitter were applied so that a little extra dimension could be seen. I say glitter looks like sugar, but hubby says, "glitter looks glitter, not sugar". We agreed to disagree (giggle)

Hoping this photo shows the glitter laden scenery along the gumdrop roof, the snowy tiles, details along the eaves and snow covered yard - all coated with berry, bubblegum or clear glitter:

Jan's set also comes several darling gingerbread people to be used as accessories on your projects, are by themselves. The sentiment and the border are both popped up dimensionally:

Hop on over and share your latest projects with us.
We love seeing your inspiring pretties!

I have made a freebie digital sentiment for you in a sweet font. NOT for commercial use, please. Use it on any of your projects, including projects involving any design teams you might be on.
This sentiment was sized and created at an angle to specifically fit the sign in this set. If you purchase the Holiday Gingerbread #3235J please enjoy the sentiment, too. If the sentiment works for you even at an angle with the escalating font size, then enjoy it any way! (giggle)
Click on the image to bring it to full size, then right click and do a SAVE.

Enjoy!

Products Used:
  • Jan's Digi Stamps - NEW - Holiday Gingerbread #3235J
  • FREEBIE SENTIMENT on the sign made to go specifically with this set. If you buy the Gingerbread set, this sentiment will fit on the blank sign.

How sweet is your little gingerbread house! Fabulous image and wonderful sparkle, I can see what you mean about the sugar!
That's a really dramatic change in temperature over just a few days Donna...warm summer to freezing winter in one swoop! Didn't think it ever got that cold in Florida, temperature here hovering around freezing so you're colder than we are!

Such a sugary "sweet" card in every way! Love how you've coated everything in sugar! That border is so clever! You amaze me every time, Donna! Our weather has us with delayed openings and school closures today, I'm hoping that I will be able to leave on a flight back to Scotland tonight!

This is absolutely gorgeous. I'd take a peppermint house any day. So sweet. Love the sparkle to this.

We are cold in North Florida today as well and we're going to get colder. As you said, we don't have to deal with the severe weather. A lot of Christmas days are spent in shorts. Then there are the days where you have 3 layers on. [Bunny]

That's really strange temperatures, how it drops dramatically, you'll need a heavy winter coat soon, Kate x x

Love this as a peppermint house! Great gum drop border too. Glitter looks like sugar, especially on a sweet peppermint house. LOL

It looks sugary to me and I think it is an awesome card design. So pretty with those wonderful colors too. That is a great stamp set to own. I can see a downside of digis for me..half the morning my internet was down so I could not download any new things. But I guess I will spend money on gifts for the grandkids instead. This time of year I use my money for gifts and postage stamps. LOL

This is so beautiful my dear!! I always say that there can never be enough sparkle on anything! LOL! Besides, glitter is what you make it, honestly! It could look like snow, it could look like sugar, it could be anything...you just "see" it the way you see it and us crafters see it my dear!! :) Love all of your stunning details and colors along with your fun post! HUGS

When the glitter is on a gumdrop it looks like sugar! How cute, Donna! You've done a beautiful job coloring your peppermint house, and with my sweet tooth I'm now craving candy. I especially love gumdrops, or those fruit slices, or Welches real fruit gummies. Mmmmmmm! Your card is so pretty. The die and trim are just the perfect things to show off this darling house!

Oh Donna, doesn't that just look magical and I love the "sugar" you have added to it, I love that row of gumdrops and the great framing of it too! Love how you made it a peppermint house, too sweet!!

Just beautiful, and I agree wholeheartedly... glitter looks like sugar. But this from someone who also thinks paint looks like colored milk!

This is gorgeous Donna. Good enough to eat, the glitter definitely looks like sugar to me! Sorry the temps are falling so rapidly, I feel sorry for the farmers. I hope they do not suffer too much.

Oh my, Donna, such glittery gorgeousness! All your efforts show spectacularly. Love the gumdrop border and your sentiment (thanks!). I always enjoy looking at candy houses, whether peppermint or gingerbread or gumdrop. I do hope you guys escaped any frost. We are getting something like that all next week, with of course the high of 80F right beforehand, gotta love our Gulf Coast temps. Stay warm -- and cool -- depending! <3 xoxo
