Sweet Spring Tulips - Jan's Digi Stamps

Hello, friends! I hope this finds you well, and enjoying some Spring Season crafting time.

Today's card is for April's Kickoff at the Anything Goes Challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps!  If you use a JDS image in your card, please mention it. There is a 2nd draw specifically for those who use one of Jan's fun images.

Jan's newest sets are 25% off, and this month's sale, includes 9 sets for Mother’s Day, also 25% off.

To create my card, one set was used:

*NEW* Spring Flowers & Coffee 4085
9 images on sale for $3.00

I had fun using Copic Markers on this versatile, sweet Spring Flowers & Coffee set.

Wilted Violet & Shaded Lilac Oxides were employed in the background, while Pumice Stone Distress ink was used in the bottom area.

Using Distress ink allows for shading a bit more atop the ink with warm gray Copics to create a shadow effect.

Gotta love the combination Purple & Yellow!

The beauty of digital stamps is they can be "re-worked" to suit our purposes.

In this case I cropped one of the sentiments to fit my needs.

Instead of:

"Daughters are like flowers, they fill the world with beauty",

my card says:

 "fill the world with beauty".

M

Looking forward to seeing your creation in the Anything Goes Challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps!

Products: Jan's Digi Images:  Spring Flowers & Coffee 4085, Anna Griffin Slim Concentric die set AG-1249-AS, Copic Markers, Pumice Stone DI, Wilted Violet & Shaded Lilac Oxides, White Gel pen for the heart bauble.

This was taken on March 14. Even after the "dregs" of milkweed leaves at the end of winter, the caterpillars have hatched, are merrily munching, and growing quickly. There are butterflies all over because of the crazy weather patterns. We have potted milkweed in our gardens, just for the butterflies to lay their eggs on!

May I please play in the following challenges?

  1. CD Sunday Plus Challenge #107 AG (1 of 3) (sentiment was copy-and-pasted digitally, cut apart digitally, and then printed out to accommodate my card. The "table top" was drawn on the word processor and hand colored with the image after printing) 4/16
  2. Worldwide Crafters and Colorists Challenge #4 AG (entry 2) 5/12
  3. A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge #4 AG 5/1
  4. Classic Design Challenge #4 AG 5/1
  5. The Corrosive Challenge #4 Anything Goes 5/6
  6. SheepSki Designs Challenges #73 Die Cuts and/or Punches 5/1
  7. My Time To Craft Challenge #505 Easter Flowers or Spring Flowers 4/20
  8. Inspiration Station #48 Field of Tulips in the boldest of colors, like the yellow tulips in my card. 5/1

That's s really lovely new Spring blog header Donna and equally pretty card, yellow and lilac make such a wonderful colour palette and the tall DL shape elegant.

No crafting here for a couple of weeks now, so annoying a cervical procedure went a bit pear shaped! Very few Butterflies as well, they are sadly in decline in the UK. We and our neighbouring farmer have set a field aside and planted with wild flowers and suitable fauna to try and encourage breeding, but will be a while before we see any positive results.

Beautiful! Love your coloring and that hi-light of yellow card stock, doesn't that just add so much interest! Clever! Who doesn't love a pretty jar/vase full of spring flowers! Fantastic! And yay for the Monarch caterpillar, I have lots of milkweed in my gardens too, so fun to watch them grow and change!

That is a gorgeous image, love the way you colored it, that is a neat idea for adding more colors that bring together your image with the scraps.
How wonderful to have your yard full of butterflies, my spring thing is my house has ants coming inside, I would much rather have the butterflies, LOL!

Nice header, Donna. And such a pretty card creation, love the drop shadow die idea. You are such a good steward of the natural world. I'm going to ask Honey about planting milkweed. We used to have sunflowers along our fence and I asked him could we grow some again. He scoffed, then relented and planted them. He also secretly planted some bluebonnet seed last fall so now we have a tiny little patch! He bought some peppers and tomato plants too so here we go again. The Carolina wren eggs in both hanging plant pots hatched and the birdies are getting louder every day. I keep thinking I'm hearing our old Doxie Reggie whining for attention, lol. Hope you are doing good. XOX

I will say that Jan has some of the most gorgeous digis on the market and you always do the most beautiful things with them! I love how you manipulate them to suit your needs. I had a lot of fun doing that in the past. It's so good to see the Monarch caterpillars munching away. Some spring weather would be nice. I'm feeling puny, but will take LuLu out to walk around the yard and feed the birds as it may not rain a lot today.

Hi Donna, I was scrolling back through your posts and I remembered that I had commented on the White Dog on the cushion and that I was captivated by him or her. Believe it or not a few short weeks later on May 8th friends of my husband suggested to someone they knew (who could not take care of her dog) that she rehome it, she decided she needed to do that. They contacted us and we said yes...if you feel like it and have the time you can see her photo on my blog http://justbranchingout.blogger.com She is white and just precious. she only weighs 10lbs and we just love her so much. Smiles, Kathy
