Lavinia World Dancing in the Moonlight

Hello, fellow fairy lovers!
I have a little gift for you at the end.
In the meantime, my heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with all who were impacted by Hurricane Dorian - all the way up to Nova Scotia!

In the meantime...
I'm running away to Fairy Land!

I've always wanted to dance carefree on a tree branch overhanging a pond.
Have you?

My fairy cards today use the same stamps, but the background has been inked with different colors of distress inks, and the sentiment is applied differently. The white highlights are also a in different places. Three similarly stamped panels with slightly changed colors and designs.

Details of our Lavinia World ChallengeAn ANYTHING GOES theme using ANY brand clear or rubber stamp - no digitals. Winner receives
a $15 gift certificate to the Lavinia World store.

While "our" Lavinia World store is located in the US, it ships worldwide. In the US, buy $25 and get free shipping! Lavinia World carries other crafting supplies for your convenience.
My cards are about 5" x 7".

These backgrounds could not be more fun to play with. Fast, simple and easy AND the spark the imagination. I actually "fall into" the story as it unfolds.
These three began identically, but I used a variety of plain old distress inks to change the colors in the pool, the sky circle, and the edges.

Stamps were placed on the background to get an idea of how they fit:

To do the sentiment in sections, I was lazy and just inked parts of the stamp:

I have learned that even with shaking, spasmodic hands that are prone to lots of boo-boos, the white lines still bring out more magic to the scenes. So give it a try if you've never done it before. For example, my hands jerked several times with this card, and it still looks better with the white details, jerky as they are. So don't be afraid to try it:

A panel of purple with a black stripe was added for visual interest:

Using a leaf border punch on two sides of the card:

I added lots of extra purple and dark pinks to this background before distressing the edges with black EP containing glitter.

My favorite is the sparkly scallops:

A darker photo shows a bit more of the purple embossing powder (with glitter of course) distressing the border. Such a fun card:

Dear Donna,

These cards are beautiful and I like the way you handled the movements. Your positivity is so infectious. Always a pleasure to visit you and see the amazing stuff you create.

I have good news - my initiative has reached over three years and the school was looking for parents to share skills so I offered to host meditation. I do guided meditation and today was my second session in the school. We will have a total of six per term. God willing if this is my dream, my angels will make it possible.

Have you heard of angel cards? I love reading them.

Love,

Monica

Your cards are gorgeous Donna! I love the purply colors you have used and the fairy silhouettes. I think I would rather dance on the ground next to the pond than on a branch above it lol. But they have wings...

What a beautiful and magical set of cards, Donna. Love the different colours and the frame you used around the one. Yes, I wish I could dance across a branch over the pond. Unfortunately, my walk across would not be that graceful :-) and may include an unexpected and totally unplanned dive into the water. More like a tumble, really! :-)
Have a wonderful day.
Happy crafting!
Big hugs,

Well those cards are wonderful and yes, if I were not scared of heights I might want to dance on a tree branch too. LOL But the colors and images you used for this card are fantastic. I am so loving them.

Love the fairies! The coloring of the paper is magical. Appreciate the lesson in using white gel pen. My cards are enhanced as I learn from you. Can't decide which border I like best.

Look at you go, Donna, with three cards and all so beautiful! The white outline makes the scene totally come alive. Fantastic! Are you going to make me go buy fairy stamps and dies now? I currently have NO fairy things. I didn't have a single mermaid-related item until you shared that other sentiment. Now... I went nuts! You haven't even seen the half of it yet. But I appreciate it so much! Thank you! Are you grinning? I hope so.

How clever to be able to change up the same background to create three different cards! I think my favourite is the sparkly scalloped edged one. A girl can't have too much glitter? Right? Gorgeous creations, Donna. x
