Use Ribbon {Moving Along With The Times}

Welcome, Blogging Friends! Hoping all is well with you.
For my friends along the Eastern Seaboard, I hope Florence's ferocities will be minimal and you will not suffer loss or serious damages from the storm.
Please be safe.

It's time to share a Project for the new Moving Along With The Times Challenge! Challenge #80's theme is RIBBON - for the next 2 weeks just make sure your project contains ribbon and upload it!

After coloring my impish fairy with Copic Markers, and die cutting her out, I applied a scrap of double sided Super Adhesive Sheets to my yellow cardstock, and die cut the shape out with the protective layer still in place.
TIP: when cutting double sided sticky tape, be sure remove the ultra glossy protective layer on the bottom first. The die will easily cut through the remaining protective layer, tape and cardstock.

The decorative border was cut to size, glued on the back of the panel, and then flipped over. I pulled off the protective layer from the yellow panel, applied the image, and then burnished with Velvet Micro Fine Glitter Butterscotch

I set the prepared panel aside to work on the card base. After dry embossing, Yellow Pearlescent Brilliance ink was moshed around the outer parts of the card.

I heat set it, and used a VersaMarker Pen around the edges and heat set with Buttercup Petal embossing powder. This color EP keep my yellow theme, rather than turning it gold. The added sparkly distressing brought more texture and a greater depth to the dry embossed area.

The greeting was also distressed with Buttercup Petal embossing powder. The close-up below shows the texture of this glittery EP on the edges of the card and greeting, and how shiny the velvety microfine glitter is:

FINISHED CARD:

On a Personal Note:

Early Mornings are often my favorite part of the day. In Florida, the past few mornings have treated us with a slightly lower morning temperature at 75F-24C so the ground is warmer than the air. A beautiful Stillness belies the cacophony of singing birds awakening - and my 2nd favorite thing - is when a special effect occurs after the night's thunderstorms, but before the sun has fully risen -- I marvel -- watching the warm ground releasing ribbons of dew rising from the pasture, creating a misty fog - caressing each blade of grass and every tiny leaf, in preparation for the heat of the day. It's like Nature lovingly kissing each of her children so they will have strength to stand tall in the humid heat once the sun rises. (If you are reading from my blog, click on the photos to enlarge).

The front gate is "down the hill" going left, and keep on going, past the fence, until you are nearly at that open space in the far right:

 The front and west pastures:
(already, the ribbons of fog have risen to feature a lush, green pasture from the previous night's thunderstorms). Isn't the Spanish Moss lovely hanging in the still morning air?

Thanks for stopping by, my friends! I sincerely appreciate your visits.

Hi Donna,
oh what a very gorgeous creation and the colours are so pretty beautiful layering and ribbon.
You always explain so perfectly how you have created your cards inyour posts.
Yes isn't nature so wonderful at times, but there are also times when it can be so harsh too especially now with the Hurricane Season.
I just hope my US Friends are going to be okay, and not get too much damages.
Love your photos.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Beautiful card but my eyes are on the yard. Love it. I love lots of trees and you have a great view. I know us Florida girls are happy that Hurricane Florence passed us by and we pray that it will continue to drop down in size. I'd love to have it totally die down to a bad storm and that's it.[Bunny]

I think I've counted about 3 headaches so far this month! It's like a constant drilling on your skull! And I live in a small town mind you! LOL!! So it's nice to see such tranquil photos! Donna, thank you for sharing your beautiful art with us and also the photos of your amazing property. I am so jealous but I couldn't tolerate the humidity there. I love the bow you made on your card too. I have a ton of that ribbon but was never able to make a bow come out decent looking with it. Stay safe!

Donna, I don't know which is more gorgeous - the card or your morning mist photographs! I love them all. Fab glittering on the yellow diamond behind that beautiful flower and I adore the texture you managed in the flowery background. The crinkled ribbon is marvelous. I need to remember to dig out some that I have and use it more often. :-D

Donna, your darling little fairy sits on the most lovely yellow glittery background! Love how glittery embossing stays put so nicely. And then you have that pretty embossed panel with the pattern brought out so nicely. You've created the perfect home for your fairy! But, talk about fairies... I believe if I look closely enough I might see a fairy or two flitting about in your misty landscape. So magically beautiful, and I know you're one who truly appreciates it. What a sight to wake up to! We live in such a gorgeous area here, but, honestly, these days I'm having trouble looking over the top of human blight to see the beauty of the mountains and the bay and the evergreens. It's wearing on me. Back to my Golden Retriever bubble!

Your garden is spectacular, beautiful photos. I love early morning too, and here in the Highland of Scotland the air is so fresh and wonderful to hear the bird song when there isn't so much traffic to drown it out and now that we are into Autumn the colours are wonderful, have a great weekend, Kate x

Another beautiful card, and interesting read, with some lovely So. Fla photos. You really captured the peace of the morning after a tstorm too! Loved that technical term "moshing". That's a very pretty EF and what an interesting & lovely look you achieved with the treatments you've done. It looks so nice with the pretty fairy image. Lovely embellies, and such a pretty, pretty card! Glad you are having some cooler temps. We fared well from Flo's fury, but our coastal areas got hit pretty heavily. No flooding here in our area, we did lose power briefly, and I think our internet provider took that as a reason to have sketchy service Sat night & Sunday. But no serious stuff, so we were blessedly lucky. TFS & Hugs.
