My blog is called "Creative Smiles" because my designs are the result of incorporating mistakes. With fumble fingers that drop whatever they are holding - repeatedly, it takes a lot of giggles, smiles and creative patience during my crafting process. xx

Sweet Dreamer Besties {Crafts Galore Encore}

Thank you for visiting!
So happy to welcome all my friends today.

Crazy weather, no matter where everyone lives -
so my hope is that you are comfortable, safe, and healthy.

It's time for another Crafts Galore Encore Challenge

This month our theme is: Anything Goes using a digi or stamp anywhere on your project.
Our sponsor is:
Sherri Baldy's Besties

and the prize is these three images
and our Craft Galore Encore badges:

My projects used the little image on the far right (above).
On my cards, she is posed in different sizes, and in two directions.

Using two other Sherri Baldy Besties images, (IMG205 and IMG376)
I added the heart, flowers and butterflies to the little dreamer girl.

Pretty in Purple - with lots of fluttering butterflies.

I especially like the pink and aqua-turquoise color combination:

In the last card, the frame has been glittered and popped up.
First, I die cut the image using SB Triple Tear die cut, so that the image was perfectly centered:

Then I cut out the frame again, separately, distressed the inside edge with green ink,
and glittered the rest.
Around the edge of the frame are thin pieces of dimensionals.
Then frame was carefully matched with the base die cut:

She is so happy in her glittery habitat!

Thanks for visiting friends! Please be sure to enter the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge this month! You may enter up to 3 times.

On a personal note:

Our garden is rather bleak - it's too hot to grow anything and the bugs are having a field day (literally)!
So today we finished harvesting the "black-eye peas" and shelled them.

For those of you who don't know about them, black-eye peas are a traditional Southern food, and are quite good in salads, side dishes, stews, soups, patties, and more. Field Peas (Black-eye, Zipper, Pink-eye, Creamers, etc) are VERY high in potassium, and high in magnesium and B vitamins, with lots of other nutritional benefits as well. They tolerate the Florida summers rather well.

Wow! Three amazingly colored cards! Those images are adorable and your card designs are fabulous! Thanks for joining us at Shopping Our Stash!

It took me a little time to see that this was the same image. The one on the yellow card look really different, but in fact it's the flip and cutting that makes it so, in addition to the impact of color. Lots of fabulous die cuts on the purple one, beautiful butterflies and glitter on the turquoise one and the very summery and sweet yellow one. It's always an inspiration to see how different the one and same image might look. They're all very beautifully designed.

And I see lots of dies I need to add to my wish list!! Love these my friend!! They're so gorgeous!! And your black-eye peas look so yummy!! Love fresh veggies!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Donna, these cards are all gorgeous and I love the big eyes! Very sweet. I am so sorry to hear about your garden. Here in Montreal, Canada, many flowers have dried out and died in our hot and humid conditions...and among them one of my favourites...lilacs.

Hi Donna, Those images are just the cutest. Your colouring is perfect.

I'd heard of black Eye Peas, but never seen them. I love our green peas and the very tiny ones (think they are called Petite Pae, not sure on the spelling).

Hope you've had a good start to the week. Sue

What an absolute delight to see this pretty girl in her three different prettily colored worlds! Your coloring is just dreamy, Donna, and I don't know which I like best. I am partial to yellow, though, and I love the green shading around her. Fabulous use of your dies and design elements. I can just see you in your stamp room creating away. What fun!

What a lovely trio of Besties you've shared. While I think your coloring is always out of this world, I like best the way you present the images layered within the marvelous dies and the glitters & lace you always add to dress up the cards to make them especially your own. Great color choices (as it always is!) and I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite (but maybe the one with the gorgeous lace? Just cause I like lace!). Enjoyed the pic of the greenery too. Love black eyed peas, but don't think I've had in a salad. Would this be cooked or perhaps raw? Hmm! Stay cool, TFS & Hugs
