Special Place {My Paper Moon Stamps}

Hello, Blogging Friends! I am beginning to feel a bit better these days and have a card share from last month! (Thanks for being very patient, Becky!)

This card is dedicated to Diane Brown.

Long time stamper Becky Parton owns a wonderful little shop called My Paper Moon
She has her own line of eclectic rubber stamps. I'll be showing some of her images in coming weeks.
  • To receive 10% off your entire order, just use the code DE10 at checkout.
  • Or if you prefer free shipping, use the code DESHIP.

My card features this darling rubber stamp:

The individuals words "SPECIAL" and "PLACE" were inked with a Tombow Marker, and then cut out for the left and right hearts.

The edges of the turquoise layer were distressed with my DisTrezz-It-All, coated with Aleene's Quick Dry Glue and dredged with Blue Nile Glitter by Sparkle N Sprinkle.

3/4 inch Double-sided tape was applied to the borders of the card base, then the heart panel was placed on top so that the white borders stuck to the tape. Starfire Glitter was then blanketed on top to give the borders that sparkly look.

Fits in a standard business-size envelope and will use a single postage stamp!
(See? I did it!)

I hope you will enjoy browsing Becky's shop My Paper Moon.

products used:

  • Stamp: Special Place  (please scroll down the page to the thumbnail)
  • LifeStyle Nesting Hearts and Nesting Scallop Hearts
  • Darice Scallop Hearts

Hallo liebe Donna,

Love your color choices on this card, Donna. And your signature glitter edges look fabulous with that heart border. Such a versatile stamp which you aptly showed us. Sorry you have been under the weather, haven't been around much myself, trying to de-weed the flower beds and plant and get the pond up and running, and for two old people it takes longer than it used to. Glad you are feeling a little better, and hope that continues.

Hugs

Hi Donna. Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog, I just wanted to quickly let you know how I did the background. I applied the crackle paste through the stencil first and covered it with clear embossing powder. When it was dry, I heated the embossing powder to make a resist, that way when I added my Ecoline inks, the colours went into the cracks but left the paste fairly untouched.

Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better, but don't over-do it. Get lots of rest and take it slow, we will all still be here when you're feeling up to it. Big healing hugs :)

Hi, Donna!!!!
So nice to have a post from you again and so happy to see that you are feeling a bit better, my friend!!!! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog the other day - so very much appreciated!!!!! I'm so busy these days I hardly get time to spend at the computer, so I apologize greatly for not responding to your comment earlier!!! At this stage I visit blogs only once or twice a week and then I really sit for a few hours to get to everyone - it's actually so much easier if you can just take a little bit of time each day, hey - I have to try and do that to make it easier for myself!!!
And your card is soooo lovely!!! Those quilted hearts are beautiful and the colours you have used are so striking!!!! And how clever to have the 'special place' on the two outer hearts, Donna!!!! The glitter at the top and bottom is lovely and adds great sparkle to the beautiful card!!! Such a special card for a special friend!!!
We're really into winter now - it's cold and windy, but no snow so far in our area - in some other areas of the country they have had some snow over the last couple of days - most of the snow over here are only on the highest mountain tops - not anything near to what you guys have over in the States!! The boys are busy with mid-year exams at the moment - school closes on the 26th of June for the mid-year break - can't wait for the holiday - at least I can stay in bed a bit longer when it's cold outside!!!!
OK, Donna - have a lot more blogvisits to do, so I'll be off for now!!!!
Thinking of you and hoping you will be much better soon!!!
Have a lovely day!!!!
Hugz

This is such an gorgeous card and I love this combo of colors together. I forget about adding the double-sided tape to an area and applying the glitter and it stays so nice and it looks so stunning. I love the patchwork and another thing I forget is the size of your card, we all think of A2 or bigger but the business size is just as nice and like you said it is standard postage. I do hope you are feeling fine and things are good with you. Have a nice week end.
Hugs, Pat♥

I was marvelling at the shape and size of this card and saying to myself that I would never find a matching envelope for this card until I read your post. How CLEVER and creative is that to fit it into a business envelope. Super sweet card just as all your other cards are.

Lots of love to a dear, dear blog buddy,
Monica
