A Little Wine, Anyone? {Sparkle N Sprinkle}

YAYYYY! You are here!

Now we can share some wine! I have a fun Sparkle N Sprinkle card share for a new Cardz 4 Galz challenge!

Badges are awarded for the Spotlight Winner and Top Picks.

Challenge #37 theme is selected by teamie Babs - Anyone For Cocktails?

so get crafting and show us your favorite cocktails!
Challenge ends on December 21.

My sparkly card has two borders using a Fleur de Lis theme. The bottom portion is actually the flap of the card front. I used a strip of 1/2 inch Tear-ific tape on the inside, burnished Sangria Star EP424 embossing powder on it, and heat set:

This card uses 4 colors of embossing powder:

Sangria Star Embossing Powder
1) The base of the card is white, with the front portion having been punched with a Fleur de Lis border punch by EK Success. On the interior flap is a strip of Tear-ific tape burnished with Sangria Star Embossing Powder  EP424 and heat set. The edges of the watercolored panel are heat set "distressed" with the same EP.

2) The wine glass was colored with Copic Markers, coated by a VersaMarker Pen, then dredged with Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set, to give it a shiny appearance.

3) The sentiment is stamped in VersaMark and heat set with White Detail embossing powder.

4) The "pink" leafy vine was die cut from white paper, colored with copic marker, "colored" with VersaMarker, and heat set with Opaline Embossing Powder (one of my favorite EPs for its versatility).
Opaline Embossing Powder

Here is the card against a white background. Unfortunately, the white border becomes lost. But the white surely does show off all the richness of the "grapie" goodness!

Here is a close-up of the Clear Detail embossing powder on the wine glass. I love the Burgundy Glitz Glitter color with the deeper "wine" colors:

The water color panel was created using Nuance Watercolor Powders.

Using a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen,

I sprinkled a little more Burgundy Glitz Glitter along the water color panel. It looks like sparkling wine dancing across the page:

We want to see all you LUSHES out there!
Oooops!

I mean,
we want to see all your luscious cocktail creations!

Link it up here: Cardz 4 Galz

On a Personal note:
Sigh! Our last bean crop before that unexpected, heavy freeze we had 2 weeks ago:

Yesterday we awakened to a very humid 75F (24C) and
in a few days we are expected to have another freeze.
I feel badly for the farmers - and all the wildlife!

My Christmas cacti have begun blooming!

Have you ever seen a white one? This one is getting ready to bloom!

What beautifully vibrant colours Donna and adore that beautiful background you have created.

I missed that you had a cold snap, never associate that with Florida but the whole world weather seems upside down the last year or two.

Thanks for your kind words about my Art Deco work and when you mentioned it I remembered we visited the district on one of your trips to Miami, strange how the memory dims and I needed that prod to remind me.

Ohhh - such gorgeous 'grapie' goodness, Donna! Such a beautiful background and wonderful use of EPs. Magnificent cacti, too! xx

Hi Donna, What a beautiful card. I love the colour mix.

I had a Christmas Cactus like your pink one. It started as a cutting from one of my mum's plants. It grew really quickly and would give me flowers before, during and a little after Christmas. Last year it didn't flower and started to die off. Think it had just come to the end of it's life. I saw a white one in a shop the other day. usually you only see pinks and reds.

Enjoy those beans. You can't beat home grown.

Have a nice day. Sue

That card is drop dead gorgeous! Wonderful colors and I love all the dies, layers and shimmer effects you added to it. I also enjoyed the photos of your green beans and those pretty Christmas Cactus plants. I had one of those years ago but never replaced it after it died...not sure if I killed it somehow or what but it was an old, old plant when it met it's demise.

Oh, Donna, I love it when you stamp! You're very good with the Brushos. It looks absolutely dreamy. The sprinkling of glitter across the background is what enchants me most of all, sigh. My Versamarker just up and dried out and I'd hardly used it. Hahahahaha, I laughed out loud at your lushes/luscious comment! Gorgeous Christmas cacti! I do have a white orchid in bloom. Crazy weather!

Hi again DE. The template is via mail, but it arrived here in Australia within two weeks I think so not bad. It is made of a sort of hard 'plastic' and has different sections where you draw around and cut out. Not like the cameo or dies, means a bit of work but love them...have several now...xx{aNNie}

What a gorgeous card Donna! I don't think the border gets lost at all, I think it is a wonderful accent piece that doesn't steal focus from your incredible background or fabulous image!! The colours are just amazing, and I do adore that wine glass image. Is it wrong that your card makes me crave some Wildberry Sangria!!! lol.

I didn't realize that you grew crops as well, how wonderful is that! Next summer, I should like to see some pics of that!! Your Christmas cacti is just beautiful, love the hot pink colours!

We finally got a couple of good frosts and we even had a couple of millimetres of snow, although it didn't last long. I ran quick as a bunny outside to grab some pics! They are saying more snow for Monday night, so keep your fingers crossed that I wake up to a Winter Wonderland Tuesday morning. sending hugs my friend :)

WOW the background so amazing Donna! The colors are so vibrant which really make the white border pop. And I love all the sparkles! Your card will put the recipient in a very happy celebration mood for sure.

Your green beans look so yummy! Our gardening ended way back in early October. The tomatoes didn't do too well this year but at least we got to enjoy plentiful of the green beans and cucumbers. And I love your Christmas cacti! So beautiful.

Have a great day Donna and happy holiday! Warm hugs!

When I first saw this, I thought "brusho", but then read about the watercoloring. Reading further through the post, aha! It WAS some brusho work! This is just fabulous, and love the play on words with the imagery and the EP you used. Wonderful old S/B die to trim that border, and I forget about using the oldie goldies from S/B. It's so ultra elegant, just right for the celebratory tipple. Today in MB, it's a lovely mid-80's, with a cool, soft breeze. However SIL thought the humidity was getting too much, so closed up and a/c is on. Merry Christmas to you & DH, with very best wishes for a wonderful, healthy 2017. Hope the freeze holds off until we head back north! Hugs, TFS and many thanks for your encouraging friendship...a blessing indeed.
