Home Sweet Home and a Vintage Country Home freebie

"True friends are never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart."

I'm so happy to see you, my dear blogging friends!

Paula has moved into a new home, so a card was in order!

QUESTION: This is the first Altenew Pigment Ink I've purchased, and the first time used. It already requires reinking. Are you familiar with this brand? Does it mix well with other brand pigment reinkers? "Back in the Day..." pigment inks used pretty much the same formulas and reinkers could be interchanged. But nowadays, I hesitate doing that with all the special formulas. Do you absolutely need to use their reinkers with their pads? Altenew's seem to be a bit more expensive. I appreciate the feedback!

After running old, old, old designer paper through the embossing folder, white pigment ink was swiped across the top, dredged with clear detail EP and heat set:

Using the die as a stencil, Pumice Stone was applied in the openings and scenic background. VFC Morning Mist was applied to the lace punch for dimension, before layering.

Using the same die on the inside sentiment, and more stenciling in the same color made for a pretty card. The house was originally colored with Copic Markers and scanned:

By cutting 3 more "blank" die pieces, and adhering them together, a dimensional centerpiece was created.

Finally, white cardstock was adhered to the back of the embossed designer paper, cut with deckle scissors, with lacy trim attached.

Small sentiment was added before adhering to kraft cardstock:

On the inside, the original designer paper, layered with the stenciled sentiment:

So good to see you posting again so soon since the last card, I love that house just gorgeous, love the framing you chose for it and the sentiment :) Like the embossing on the pattern paper, and highlighting with the white. I have no idea about the inks, like you said they all claim to have their own formula's for their inks so I would be a bit nervous about adding different ones, yes Altenew is a bit expensive on some things, you have to look out for their sales.

It's always the details that catch my eye, such as how your designer paper made such a lovely subtle background blend when you dry and then wet embossed it. Of course, the image in fancy die is beautifully colored, and look at you offering up this fabulous freebie. You are a treasure, Donna! I do not know about mixing brands of pigment ink. A while back I mixed two different brands of soft soap and it was like oil and water. I never would have thought.

Your new home congratulations card is stunning!!! The embossed print paper is spectacular! The lacy die for the country home image and then used again for a fuller sentiment inside is beautiful and makes me think of the Victorian time period and how the women loved bric-a-brac, doilies, lace table runners-curtains-tablecloths, etc. Thanks for sharing at FQGS' anything farm and/or country goes theme! Plus thanks x 2 for sharing at Ally's Angels' anything goes! -- Becca

Such an elegant card - the lacy diecuts and the fabulous double embossing is the perfect background.
Regarding the ink, I would contact Altenew - it should not be dry on opening.
Thank you for offering the freebies - they are amazing.
Blessings
