Happy July to you! Hoping the summer temperatures are not being too cruel to you, and that you have escaped some of the weather hardships assaulting so many countries.
Today I'm sharing the last of some designer-papers-cut-into-triangles stuff from my unfinished box. These were papers cut into triangles years ago, and then hidden away in a box for... why? I reasoned lasst month they would be good backgrounds to showcase some sentiments on card fronts, using an assortment of embossing powders and images. I also employed some of my oldest Spellbinders die shapes, a Sizzix branch, little round Prills (for flower centers) and an old Martha Stewart flower punch.
First are three sympathy cards. Is it appropriate to use Wink of Stella on serious cards?
It was fun mixing and matching shapes to accommodate the sentiments. And OH-SO-GLAD to have six more cards completed from the now (gratefully) depleted triangle stash!

Delightfully elegant card De, I think WofS adds a subtle sheen that draws the eye so to my mind appropriate.
Summer temps not cruel here, in fact Summer's not really arrived, nights down to 8deg and heating on at times - in July? At least I've got on with some crafting as going to be MIA for up to six weeks, latest curve ball is scheduled kidney surgery out of the blue.

Gorgeous cards Donna and beautiful sentiments, the flowers are nice and like the gold leaves! It always feels good to create with things that have been around for awhile and use them up!
It's inspiring to see what beauties old paper scraps used with older dies can be turned into! All are gorgeous, but my eyes were drawn to the middle card on the first poto, I like the contrast of the papers and the beautiful shading of browns around the sentiment, as well as the neutral colors of the flower and leaves.
Beautiful cards Donna and I think a bit of sparkle on any card is appropriate.

You are correct! They are beautiful backgrounds to use on cards! This is why you saved them! All are gorgeous! And yes, I think a hint of WOS here and there is totally appropriate--hope so, as I do it!
Oh Donna they are all gorgeous and will surely bring peace and comfort to those you send them too. I think they were in there for just a time as this that you needed them to be there to put together in these lovely cards! You did a beautiful job showcasing those sentiment with your dies too. Sorry I am a little late commenting, we had flooding on the 16th and I was already behind on my blogs, so that has put a tamper on things for getting much else done.
Hi De, sorry if I'm late but my life is a very busy in the last times!
I find that those triangles are just perfect to show up the so beautiful sentiments! Your choice is very inspiring, as always! Love so much the elegance of your artworks and the fact that the papers accompany the important words without distract the eyes. Love the details of prills in the centres of the sweet flowers and the wink of stella textures. Could be the light inappropriate? :) In my opinion, no: a delicate light for me is right also in serious card and gives something more to the heart.
Love so much the sentiment "Embrace a Memory", so true, and your wonderful designs make it also more important. Your choice of shapes for the focal points look amazing in each card and also the flowers !!
Have a lovely weekend you too!
Such a gorgeous array of cards for lots of sad times in our lives. Sorry I am not about these days much, the Lords work has overtaking my time.
