Butterfly Love - 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

My thoughts and prayers are extended to friends and citizens of Indonesia.

We are still experiencing record breaking heat here in central Florida.
I hope wherever you live, that you're enjoying the awesomeness of Mother Nature.
We certainly do!

Time for a new 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge!
In October, we are sponsored by Art of Ching-Chou Kuik, where beautiful, soulful works of art come to life! I loved playing with this image, and had to triple the fun by multiplying the hand drawn butterflies.

Today's card features "Flutter Butterflies - Grey Scale"

Living in Florida, we have butterflies year-round, so I do "container gardening" to keep blooming flowers available to our pollinators even during our "cold months".

Depending on the weather, sometimes I have butterflies "mob" me as I walk out the front door with the watering can.

It's fun. They don't SEEM to be afraid, just watchful that they don't end up as someone's dinner.

Since pink butterflies don't frequent our home, I designed this card with bright pink fluttering critters -

To conserve my paper, I arranged the digital images on my paper like this:

I colored the main image and 3 more butterflies with Copic Markers, then fussy cut the extra fluttering beauties and popped them on:

Using one of my favorite sentiments from the Lovely Magnolia Rubber Stamp Set, I glittered some die cuts and a star brad.

Two of the layers are distressed with Mousse in Aquamarine and Pink Flambe. The mousse provides a soft touch with shimmering appearance on the edges.

You have until October 28 to upload your critter-laden project to 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge! Hope to see you there!

A beautiful image and lovely colour choice, the pink butterflies are gorgeous.
Fabulous design with pretty papers and those stunning die cuts, a wonderful summery card.
Temperatures here are definitely more autumnal, the leaves are turning colour...the weather is still wonderful though, sunshine and bright blue skies.
Have a great week.

Hello Donna, thank you for remembering the people of Indonesia. They are just such a resilient and happy lot. They go about their lives no matter what and help all who cross their path.

Your card is so pretty and so much work went into it like your other cards too. WONDERFUL CREATION.

Love,

Hi Donna, your card is a stunner, what a gorgeous image and such beautiful colours.
We will have no more butterflies now as our Autumn is well and truly under way, in fact I noticed a smattering of snow on the top of our local mountain this morning, Kate x

Donna, it's so beautiful the way your coloring turned out on this! The image is so soft and the way it's illustrated it lends itself well to no-line coloring. Love her hair color and the fanciful pink butterflies. I would love to be mobbed by butterflies! Despite the garden we really don't get that many here. Maybe the wind is a deterrent. Gorgeous frame. You sure know the art of beautiful cards!

How beautiful is this fairy girl! The papers and colors are lovely combined together and I like the sheen on the embossed pieces around the sentiment. I enjoyed the mini-tutorial on the digi design arranging too. You are SO clever with this art! TFS & Big hugs

Absolutely stunning card, Donna! Your coloring skills are so incredible! I wish you had included a photo of your butterflies. We don't see many of them here in Michigan and I love them. I'm so glad that I have someone else thinking about Indonesia. What a tragedy! Thank you for playing with us at the Alphabet Challenge and hope you can join us again soon.

Oooh you are quite tech savvy! This card looks like it was so much fun to make (perhaps every card is lol) Beautiful colors and glitzy accents, the flourishes are fabulous. I adore that sentiment and it certainly ties in what you have just described--I would love to be mobbed by butterflies HA! Well done!

Oh Donna you have done such a wonderful job in coloring her, just beautiful, that was a great idea to print twice so you could pop some of those pretties up and bring it all to life. The framing of it all is lovely too! Love the sentiment it is so true, there is so much around us if we only open our eyes to it and push out the ugly. Love the softness of the papers too.
How wonderful to have that many butterflies right outside your door!

Fantastic coloring! I never dare to go with a crazy hair color. You gave her green hair, but it doesn’t look crazy at all, it looks very natural. So beautiful with the extra added butterflies too.
