It's a Snowman's Life {Our Crafty Corner #10}

Hello, Lovely Crafty Friends!

Today begins challenge #10 for Our Crafty Corner!
It  continues until the end of the month.

OCC is a month-long challenge, beginning the first Monday of each month.
Every month's theme: ANYTHING GOES

My card features Two Turtle Doves Snowman
offered by this month's sponsor The Stamping Boutique

Such a darling image! I'll be using it again in the future!

The metallic snowflakes are from the sealed lid of my Whey Protein container LOL
Challenge Up Your Life #42 Repurpose Household Item:

The Snow Writer was used across the card top, and on the snowman's furry cap and coat, then sprinkled with Sparkle N Sprinkle's glitter. (Quite surprising how quickly this product dries even in humid Florida!)

Zig Zag stitching, ribbon, lace, glitter, and
snowy happiness (Snow Writer) surround the snowman and his friends.
He is colored with Copic Markers:

Now it's your turn to link up to the

Hi Donna, What a fab card. The snowflakes are lovely.

I have my stamps and punches stored in one of those over the door organisers.

Hope you have a good start to the week. Sue

Hi Donna. Love your Christmas card, snowmen are so much fun for the winter season! Love the aqua palette, and those silver snowflakes...genius!

I think my favourite part was your view though, so jealous that you have a pool! It was fun to get a glimpse into your world, thanks so much for sharing! hugs :)

Oh, goodness, I saw the first image and thought how cute your snowman is, and then as I read along and scrolled down your whole card popped into view and it just blew me away! It's a snowman in the Land of Enchantment! How beautiful and fun! What a great way to repurpose those foil packages, too. Love the colors and lace and snow and just every little detail. But that's not all! What a treat to get to tour your craft room! Another Land of Enchantment! Isn't that the way of craft rooms? All that stuff to play with. And a place for everything and everything in its place (for the time being, at least). What a beautiful view and a lovely place to be when it's too hot to be outside. It's rarely too hot to be outside here, and that's why I don't get to my stamp room much in the summertime. I'm slowly working on decluttering mine, getting ready to paint. Hope to have a bigger window put in by fall so I can see out to the garden and the bird feeders. Guess this summer I'll work on improving the view. It's all so much fun! Thanks for a wonderful visit this morning, Donna!

Verna Angerhofer said...

Well, aren't you clever to repurpose those metallic silver covers into snowflakes. I love that idea and those flakes look awesome on your cute snowman card. Lovely color choices too.

Darlene said...

I just love this happy snowman Donna! AND WOW what a great use for those sealing covers (have to keep that in mind next time I open a new Maxwell House container) ... would be easy to punch too! Cool!
You are so talented and I always pick up a tip or trick from you! LOVE your craftroom ...I too am in the basement (call it my crafting CAVE) but hubby has given me a lot of space, tables and light so I'm happy although it could stand some reorganizing ... thanks for inspiration! HAPPY DAY my friend and keep that inspiration coming ... I can use it about now! LOL

That snowman is ADORABLE! He is so stinkin' cute! Love the glistening of snow and all that sparkles. You are the cleverest for punching the snowflakes from that foil! So CLEVER! Great layers of dies and lace and pretty pretty things! :)

Just watched your craft room video! Holy Smokes, girl! You should just hold classes, you have enough 'stuff' lol Looks like a lot of fun, a nice place to play in! I could see your view, the cooling pool and your lovely plants! Have a wonderful day! xo~

Donna you are so clever! I love that you recycled the inside lid to make snowflakes! That is so cool! I love your happy snowman, he makes me smile! You colored him perfectly I love the touch of glitter on his hat and coat!

Oh my goodness that is just adorable little guy, he brings a smile to my face and you have colored him perfect!! Love your repurpose idea with your lids for the snowflakes, pretty framing and I love your ribbon banners with pretty lace!!

What an adorable card, and in my favorite colors. Being a Floridian, I don't get to see snow, which makes me love snowmen and snowflakes all the more. I'm a big fan of autumn leaves, too. I guess because I don't have to rake them. I never thought to use recycled aluminum foil as snowflakes. I have bought the aluminum foil squares used for cooking and used those., I will have to start saving my yogurt lids. Thanks for the tip.

Gorgeous, and the details, nice snowflakes for sure, and the stamp is colored great. Awesome job, and thanks for playing our challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.

Hi Donna! Sorry for the delay, but have been sick and overwhelmed! I clicked follow so I won't miss any more posts. :) Let me say, this is a card of dreams! The punch substrate is genius! I am tickled to death about it bc I have a MS punch that always falls apart when punched with paper. And it's the prettiest snowflake! I ADORE your coloring of this fun image. I need him! Will pin this card and remake with my mom this winter. Hugs, Autumn

Gorgeous card Donna! I especially love the colors you have used on this–all my favorites! Love that you have used stitching on your card. I would like to do this one day but I don't really like sewing. I may get one of those mini machines if I can find one at a good price! What is a snow writer?

Hallo liebe Donna,

What a super adorable card! Wintery and snowy and sparkly. You've chosen colors I wouldn't have thought of using for the snowman, it's beautifully colored. And there's stitching! You probably know by now I love stitching on cards. It's a wonderful creation.
And I watched your video. I'm ashamed to say what you call your messy spot in the room is far more tidy than my tidy spots. My craft room is actually a dining room and we need to use it as such from time to time, so I haven't got all those practical shelves I'd love to have. But I love your room, spending time in there must be really cozy. You're so well organized and you're surrounded by prettiness, it's been really inspirational to see your craft space.

Enjoyed your video, and your very tidy room. You have some wonderful custom-made pieces that are so handy. Especially love your copic holder too. Good job to the creator on that one. Delighted to see this frosty Snowie, especially since it's low 90-s here today. Good breeze, so not too hot (well, would be if you were outside working!). Loved your idea of making the snowflakes with the recycles.. brilliant idea. Well sharpened punch to work on that too...must try it. Good work with the video too. Hope you'll be able to do more of these. Love watching videos! TFS & Big hugs

Oh, Donna, look at your with the metal snowflakes that shine so brightly!! I LOVE THEM! How clever to use the lids...note to self to remember this tip! Hehe! And what a beautiful snowman with gorgeous colors. I love the "snow" you've added and love the ribbon and lace! Beautifully done! Wow, you are the master! I LOVED watching your video and hearing your sweet voice, and your room is beautiful and organized. We all think ours is a mess, but as long as we can find (well even if we have to look a bit - hehe!) when we want, it works for us. Big hugs and love, precious friend!

Donna, Beautiful color choice, cool and crisp with the added snow and love how you did the snowflakes. It is so nice when you can put a card together and things just full into place the ribbon is just perfect and love the lace. Snowman is so cute and colored just beautiful. I enjoyed your video of the craft room, trying to reorganize mine and getting rid of things I have not used you years, only have so much storage room. When I do that it takes me forever because I do not want to do it again for a long time.

Hi, Donna! I guess I missed this when I was offline in the spring and I'm so happy to be here to see it now! I love your snowman card! So gorgeous and sparkly! Thanks for sharing how you made the punched snowflakes out of the metallic lids! A

Thank you for the wonderful craftroom tour! I really enjoyed seeing your room and your awesome stash of crafty goodies, tools, and equipment! Not sure why you were apologetic about keeping the shelves Jack built for you - they were made with love and it would be so wasteful to let them go - they look perfect in your room! What a beautiful display of wood-mounted stamps - I don't display mine because I don't like dusting haha! But I still have all of them! Your home is beautiful, and you even have a pool! I enjoyed hearing your voice and having this glimpse into your life! You are awesome, Donna! Please be well and enjoy your fabulous crafty space! You deserve it! Hugs from Kitty.
