Beautiful Vintage Summer Day {Dies R Us}

Yayyyyyy!! You're here!
(Waving hello quite happily!)

I'm glad you could stop by for a little Dies R Us Inspiration!

And there is a little freebie for you at the end of the post.

Today's technique is once again a simple design idea,
but saves on card bulkiness to help with postage rates.

Combining Layers and Die Cut Inlays

My cards use the following Dies R Us Products:

Spellbinders Grand Stately Cirles, and Grand Circles
Spellbinders Classic Circles
Spellbinders Decagon Nestabilities
First, determine which dies and colors you would like to use.
Decide if there are any areas where dies can be "nestled in" for an inlaid design.

The green card needed a bit of white behind the tan round accent. A white inlay was die cut using Sue Wilson's Ornate Pierced Squares, featuring the pierced dots around the edge for visual interest:

The image has also been die cut using the same circle as the frame.
Below, dark green is inlaid below the decorative circles.
I wish the photography was better for darker colors so you could see the piercing.

I preferred the decagon shape instead of the round shape:

A close up to view the layers and inlaid portions:

The interior is also framed, using the external portion of the Ornate Pierced Squares.
There are pierced details in every section of the "left overs".

You might prefer Sue Wilson's French Collection - Borders, Corners, Tags which are lovely and ornate:

Thoroughly enjoyed coloring the image with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.
A beautiful free image from Digital Tuesday.
I also delighted in using a VIRGIN Stampin' Up! sentiment that fit the image quite well!

Don'tcha just love using beloved goodies that have been neglected far too long?

Thanks for popping by today!

Lis of Paper Maker Creations blog asked if I would please make some sentiments.
Today we both share them with you:

These are for personal use only.

It is the same sentiment - four styles available in jpg.
To download, click on the sentiment first to enlarge it, then download to your hard-drive.

Hope you enjoy!

These are incredible, Donna, and I adore the water wheel image! These remind me of a set of beautiful coasters I once owned but they weren't as decorative as your cards with all the layers and die cuts. Beautifully done. I've just gotten my first ever Sue Wilson dies and am having such fun playing with them. More to come, I'm sure. :-D

Hello, Donna! First of all, your photography is great and I can see the piercing on the dark green just fine. Okay, now, the photo where you have all the schtuff laid out is so fun. It makes a person want to run to their stamp room and create! I would have a huge mess, though. Getting right down to it... these are gorgeous cards!! LOVE the image and your layering and insets and the embossing and just everything about them! I was admiring the image and thinking how I'd love to have it and nice to do something besides flowers for a change, and then I saw that you found it at Two for Tuesday. My favorite place to browse! I think I have every image my heart could possibly desire from there, and I certainly must have this one. It's probably stored off the computer. I'll have to go look. How could one NOT want to color this scene? See, now you've got me going... Gee, thanks, Donna!

Beautiful cards and thanks for the freebies always. Love your coloring of this gorgeous country old home. I think I saw something just like this back Easter at one of the old DuPont homes with the water wheel. Love the colors. Well done my friend and Hugs!
