Eleven Cards - One Die Set {Scrapy Land}

Hi!and a special welcome to new follower Marlene Atkinson.

The icky germies have pretty much left our home, and the ME and CMP which became activated because of the viruses, are now also abating! Yippee! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - it meant so much!

I'm so excited to show you ELEVEN different cards using a single Sue Wilson die set. Sue's "border and corner" die sets are fun and easy to use on any card size. The borders look fabulous even on small cards. All my cards are from ONE of the sets:

Welcome to my projects for the 11th Scrapy Land Challenge!

The Challenge is open until February 15.
The theme is "ANYTHING GOES using any die manufacturer which Scrapy Land sells" (electronic die cuts do not qualify)Scrapy Land sells over 40 brands of dies, including overseas products. Each week different items are on sale.

(pssst! there are always so MANY items on sale, that I have learned to look for products alphabetically by manufacturer name in the Sale Section).

  plus free shipping over $45!

My card features the following Scrapy Land dies.
(for all the dies used, please see the product list at bottom)
To see all the beautiful Sue Wilson Border-Corner-Tag die sets, click here
My eleven cards use this set:

Sue Wilson - French Collection
Corner, Border, and tags

All cards are made with old, long-forgotten products from my stash:
designer papers, stamp sentiments, and 3-D stickers,
making these cards relatively fast to put together.

First are some samples of using the corner element only.

Corner element facing down:

Corner element in the four corners:

Corner element used as a medallion (or doily):

Next are "business size" cards using the border as a double border
(top and bottom):

One is dry embossed:

The other is distressed lightly with ink:

Below are two cards using only one border on the same size cards
(one is light green with distressed inks, the other is a darker green without the ink):

Now to see cards using the tag only.
The tag can be cut up to use the elements as background pieces on gift tags,
or even horizontally for a pretty layer behind other layers:

Assortment of using the variations of die cuts:

These cards are size 5x7. The border was cut on both ends to accommodate the smaller size.

Here I glued the tag onto red CS and then trimmed around the die by hand:

Tag die cut with 3-D sticker:

Tag and Single border:

While Sue Wilson is known for her large, beautifully elegant cards, my card designs show her dies are great for colorful, fun designs as well, to make quick and great-to-mail cards, too (using a single postage stamp)!

Products Used:

  • Scrapy LandSue Wilson - French Collection - Corner, Border, and tags
  • Scrapy Land - Sue Wilson - Spanish Collection - Corner, Border, and Tags (background for a sentiment on top)
  • Scrapy Land - Sue Wilson - Italian Collection - Umbria (the round section with the medallion card)
  • Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large (Large, meaning they are fatter) (used with tags for sentiments)
  • Spellbinders Floral Ovals (for sentiment)
  • Martha Stewart Holly Leaves punch around the page (one of my favorite punches!)
  • KandCompany papers and stickers
  • SU solid cardstock colors - assorted.
  • Inks: Assorted VersaFine and Distress Dye Base inks

Wow, Donna, what an awesome selection of cards you made! These dies are absolutely beautiful and I love what you've done with them. What impressed me most was how you used the corner die to make the medallion/doily - it looks amazing! The only size cards I make are A2 and 6x6 so I was impressed by the variety here. I'm so glad you're feeling better - no fun being sick, especially when you're already suffering. Sending hugs, my friend.

Wow! What a wonderful selection of cards Donna, my husband would love these - I can just hear it now "see I told you that you don't need all of those dies"!
Joking apart, you have been so creative using just one set of dies in so many different ways and you've used lots of bits and pieces from your stash as well.
I'm so pleased to hear that you are on the mend, take care.

Amazing - all from one die set! That is such a great idea for the dies. I like the different theme within each of these sets. How fun to play with designer papers and a couple of dies and come up with such a beautiful array of cards. My favorite is the corner die that you made into a doily. Absolutely stunning Donna!

I confess to especially loving the corner used as a medallion... it's exquisite beyond words, thanks to the incredibly detailed die. Thank you for the abundance of inspiration, my sweet friend! Dadgum it! Now there's another border I'm drooling over!! You have certainly maxed the use of this pretty one on each of these stunning cards. I wish my eyes could 'see' as yours do. I was going "Oooh" and "aah' with each beauty that scrolled up, but using the corner as the medallion as you did on one card, was just inspired! Big hugs to you for all this work. So happy that all the germies have left the premises and you can get back to doing what you love. TFS & Hugs too.
