My blog is called "Creative Smiles" because my designs are the result of incorporating mistakes. With fumble fingers that drop whatever they are holding - repeatedly, it takes a lot of giggles, smiles and creative patience during my crafting process. xx

Music is not Just for the Birds

Good Morning! My fingers finally completed a project which was begun last March LOL

First of all:  ACK! NO GLITTER!

This little 3.25" x 3.25" booklet opens into an accordion style card, using the same template as a pink booklet here.

The booklet opens about 18" long. Depending how deep the spine is, more photos or dimensional items can be added.

Those of you who know me will appreciate my brainlessness - I had forgotten how to use the most fundamental of tools and had to become reacquainted by reading directions for the Grand Calibur, Eyelet Setter, and threading my sewing machine! Sheesh, the mind is a terrible thing to waste - but HONEST, Mom! It's not my fault!

The first thing seen when the book opens is a tab of flowers cut from the MS punch. Pull the tab to open the booklet.

The "birdie" booklet is inspired by friend and fellow "Stampin' Seestah" Sandy (Cheesy). Sandy gifted me with the Colorbok Truffle paper stack one day. Sorry it took so long to show my appreciation!

And YES I used my little Janome Sew-Mini again - I love it.

This booklet is entered in 9 challenges listed below. The "Oldie But A Goodie Challenge" was not only "inspired by a song" but had to utilize at least one item not used for 6 months. Actually, that was easy for me, since I haven't been able to do anything for six months. But the paper stack, two SB dies, Copper rhinestones, and stamps from set SNS Bird Swirl #432 were all over 6 months old, having never been used.

Did you know Sandy is a die-hard air guitarist? (ducking here)

Because I am homebound these days, I used what was on hand. So what did I learn?

Prismacolor Solvent Blender Marker blends not only their brand markers, but also Prismacolor Pencils and Copic Markers!

and...

Life Style cookie cutter dies are a fabulous deal for the price, creating awesome layers, but difficult for fumble fingers to use easily.

Will I purchase more? Probably, because they are wonderful for layering purposes.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh, it's soooo good to see you back again, my friend! That will put a smile on my face for the whole day, if not longer. :-D What a fabulous little booklet. Love the stitching and all the lacy trims. I just bought myself a little sewing machine, dedicated to card stitching. But I have to learn to thread it first. (Sound familiar?) I've always just done faux stitching because I didn't want to drag out my big machine which I use for clothes and quilting. Really happy that you've feeling better!

Donna that is one sweet booklet, mini album. I like that it has so many spaces for pictures, journaling and trinkets. The colors are wonderful. You decorated it beautifully! I did not know that Sandy played "air guitar"

Dearest Sistah,
This is really a fab booklet gift. You did an incredible job as always. So much attention to detail. Love the birdie and lace and dies and coloring and....I could go on and on. But I am a little jealous that you've begun using a sewing machine. I've had mine for almost 2 years now, and it hasn't seen the light of day!
Ok, on to the air thingy....were you referring to my airness or my musicality? Not sure if I am taking this as a compliment, yet. ROTFLOL. Happy day to you.

Well Donna - it was certainly worth the wait. So much detail in such a little space! You totally rock - which of course, you can do along with Cheesy as she plays her air guitar!! Incredible project - you should feel very proud to have accomplished such a delicacy!!
