Today's card features PINK!
Just click on any of the photo to enlarge them:

The Fairy and Slender Mushrooms were stamped in VFC Fantasia Purple, while the "fairy dust" (Stars Mini) was stamped with VFC Purple Delight (it's between pink and purple).

At the bottom of the above photo are "layers" of glittered grasses. I also used a glue pen and applied dark purple glitter to the black area in a few streaks.
TIP:
Since using the Lavinia World Scenescapes, I've accidentally learned something regarding VersaFine Clair ink, Glitter, and the cardstock used for the Scenescapes.
Apply glitter ONLY where you want it BECAUSE - even if the VFC is heat set, glitter will still adhere to it. Not sure if it happens on regular cardstock - it's something I need to experiment with, but my last 4 cards using the LW Scenescapes and VFC inks have grabbed the glitter. The big specks of glitter will brush away, but the oil-based pigment in VFC apparently adheres the smallest glitter particles. You can see what I mean below. I held the camera so the light reflected off the paper and ink. The mushrooms on the right are "glittered" unintentionally. While I did brush off the kitty, and even scraped with my finger nail, Mooch's tail and "bottom" grabbed the glitter. If anything, it is a happy condition if you like glitter (if you love fairies, SURELY you love glitter!).
Click to make photo larger if you wish to inspect it.
Try glitter on some of your cards that use VFC - it only works with loose glitters:

Finally, the finished Card
(I know, I know -- you are sighing with relief!)

Lastly, I stamped the interior of the card in black after printing a cute sentiment:

I love your cards with the Lavinia stamps and backgrounds. Simply stunning. You make me believe in magic.
ReplyDeleteStunning card Donna! The glitter groupings are just fairy dust that's collected in certain spots :-). Wonderful sentiment on the inside too.
ReplyDeleteThis is just SO beautiful! Love that beautiful palette with the silhouette stamps. Too sweet and oh so perfect for our 'Feature a Creature' challenge this week at Sweet Stampin'. Thanks for joining in the fun with us! Hugs, Wends xoxo Sweet Stampin' DT
ReplyDeleteWow! Donna your cards are always so amazing! I love the colors and all that sparkly goodness! That cat is adorable with the stars all around him/her! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful, magical, spectacular beauty! Hope that cat doesn't get the wrong idea LOL
ReplyDeleteFirst, absolutely gorgeous card!!! Second, I love your stepped out photo tutorial. And third, good info to know about VersaClair inks!!! And while that would be frustrating to have it happen when you didn't expect it, especially if the results were not serendipitous, the other side of it is *how cool is that*?!? Eager to see if you do experiments and if it works with all colors. I remember seeing Lydia of Understanding Blue try a technique that only worked with the blue VC. Seems they have slightly different properties depending on the pigment.
ReplyDeleteDonna what a beautiful card and so very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post and as always learn so much. I quite like kitty with glitter on it's bottom!!! Thank you for the tips and the information, I appreciate it x.
Stunning card and yes fairies and glitter are meant to be x.
Beautiful card! Thanks for joining us at Unicorn. Have a nice day,.. Succes!!

This is so pretty, Donna! Great tip about the glitter and Versafine Clair ink, thank you! I wonder if a powder tool would help prevent this? I love everything about this gorgeuos card, but especially that beautiful kitty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Donna! Thanks for sharing how you created it!

Donna, i think i need to come and play at your house. I have so many friends i would love to get together from around the world and just play. Your instructions are wonderful and it is a joy to see how you created this beauty!
ReplyDeleteI always admire your detailed scene cards and it’s really so inspiring to see the step by step photos. Very useful as it doesn’t come natural to me to just see how one can start off on such a design. It’s a gorgeous card, with lots of glitter, intentioned or not:)
ReplyDeleteHi, Donna. Sorry to be commenting so late, I've gotten way behind. This is stunning what you've done. And once again, I'm so excited to see your Lavinia cards and then so scared to try one. But with you giving tutorials, I had a horribly selfish thought: if I just followed your tutorial and CASED??? May I possibly do that, is it okay with you? I will credit you profusely! xoxo P.S. your tutorials are brilliant don't you dare shorten them! xoxo
ReplyDeleteA very stunning card Donna. Love the vibrant colours and the placement of the elements
ReplyDeleteJune :)
A stunning, magical scene, Donna! The inside stamping is very beautiful too. I have to tell you that I love reading your tips and tricks! Thank you. xx
ReplyDeleteSo pretty in pinks! That big kitty is wonderful, and the glitter just looked like fairy dust on his bum!! Awesome card, so much to look at and enjoy, just sat and took it all in for a minute. I got my pre-ordered stamps, need to find time to use them.......ugh......
