Beautiful Pear by Beccy Muir

Waving HELLO to all my friends
and grateful you can stop by today.

I was inspired by Beccy's Coloring Tutorial paired with her March freebie Beautiful Pear to create my fruity cards. Both pear clusters are colored similarly with Copic Markers and Prismacolor Markers, but different techniques were employed:

Steps:

  1. I downloaded Beccy's Beautiful Pear image in black and white, converting it to  PNG with transparent background.
  2. I placed three pears on my word processor and arranged to my liking before printing.
  3. The pears were then colored with Copic and PC markers.

Here are the results:

For texture, a burlap strip was added with partial black die cut on the left. The sentiment was stamped with Nocturne VF Clair and heat set with a black detail EP that contains glitter, so the sentiment sparkles and shines:

Also colored with Copic and PC markers, my next card, partially embraces the pointillism technique found here:

The sentiment (from my new floral rubber stamp set which will debut on April 1) has been heat set with white detail embossing powder. The crinkled ribbon is seam binding with different color inks:

    On a Personal Note -
Last week our Chinese Fringe Plants were blooming. This one is on the side in the back. They will stop blooming in a week, and I'll drastically prune it. The new foliage will come out a pretty burgundy color for the next 6 months.

    2. The pears are beautifully colored. I love both cards. The burlap and the lace enhance the cards.

Your Chinese Fringe plant is grand. What a lovely sight. You'll have to do a comparison photo after it's been pruned and then comes out with the new foliage. [Bunny]

    19. Wow, Donna your pear cards are beautiful and your coloring is awesome. I love the softly printed paper and lace trim, too. I have some of that leaf ribbon. Gee, I really need to figure a way to work it into a card. It looks so pretty here. And what a delight to see your very colorful fringe flower bush in full bloom. A plus that it will keep on giving through the season with the burgundy foliage.

    28. Wow, what a great job you've done with those images Donna! You did well to merge them together, they look as though they were drawn that way, and your colouring is fantastic too! I really love the dots around the outside, what a great effect.
You're very lucky to have such a wonderful tree right outside your house. The colour of the foliage is something else! And to have it like that for six months is really wonderful. Thanks for sharing the photos.
      Cheers,
      Beccy

    31. Well, I don't know where to start..........Both cards are just gorgeous. I love everything about them both, particularly, the beautiful background daisy paper, the burlap and that stunning lace, and the pear images which you have colored up beautifully. Donna, you always take that next step on all your creations that make them stand out and scream GORGEOUS! AND then those of us in the north get to see that wonderful blooming bush so full of color and life! Did I mention they are calling for snow here on Sunday.........but, I did see a Robin yesterday, a sure sign of....they will be trying to make a next on our patio soon and my husband will be out there taking down their efforts until they move on.......

      Seriously, what a fabulous post!!!

      Hugs
