Flowers for You {Our Crafty Corner #9}{Bugaboo}

Hello Sweet Blogging Friends!
(((((hugs))))

Today begins challenge #9 for Our Crafty Corner!
It continues until the end of the month.

OCC is a month-long challenge, beginning the first Monday of each month.
Every month's theme: ANYTHING GOES

This Month's Sponsor is Karleigh Sue Digitals

My card features Bugaboo Stamp's "For You From Me Flower"

A little twist for my project today...

I've used Bugaboo's Stella Says Sketch #408 on BOTH cards.
In fact, both cards are using...

          the same image,

the same colored pencil and distress ink hues,

                              and the same sketch.

                                        But are they EVER different!

(white card = 6"x6"    ----    green card= 7.5"x 5.5")

The first card is highlighted with darker blue tones because the flowers are shaded in Blue Print Distress Ink, and a frame around the edge which has been distressed with the same ink and glitter. The top and bottom of the card are also distressed with the same glitter mixture.

NEVER EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF GLITTER!

With 3 layers of hydrangeas, the white card is distinctive to have the petal layers distressed with Blue Print Distress Ink, and also inked in the centers, to match the frame surrounding the scene. The white panels of the sketch may be difficult to see even though they are distressed with Worn Lipstick Ink. I should have used dimensional adhesive for the layers. Each layer has a different embossed shape.

The butterfly has also been layered, and then glittered to match the image frame and distressed borders of the card. Prills adorn the hydrangea centers.

Inside of the card:

The second card has a dark green background, with a hint of white around the sketch panels, making them more easily seen. The hydrangea in the corner takes the place of the flower in the corner of the Sketch Pattern.

The hydrangea petals sport pink highlights with more prills.

TIPS:
Because there are so many layers, I die cut leaves and flowers from the layers where only an edge can be seen. This helps with bulk and postage costs.

There is glitter in the self-adhesive lace since some of that clear tape would show.
Once again, glitter comes to the rescue!

I prefer the white highlights and bright magenta centers in the hydrangeas, compared to the bold blue look in the white card:

Thanks for stopping by today!

Lastly, a share from our front pastureland last week. Ribbons of dew rise from the ground. Sometimes colors are reflected in the layers as the sun sheds light on flowers and its own sunrise hues. The layers are usually caused by the rapid rise of temperature in the morning, depending on the season. This time, the layers are not noticeable. The trees show off their dangling Spanish moss, and their leaves have not yet emerged:

Oh, gosh, I couldn't say which hydrangeas I like better 'cause I LOVE both of them! I have several blue hydrangeas and no two are exactly the same shade. They're all so pretty, just like yours. Those prills in the centers really finish the blooms off beautifully. I must get some of those. And you're so right about never underestimating the power of glitter. So many times it has done the trick for me. All those white layers on your first card show up perfectly. Love white on white. The different textures make them stand out. Beautiful dies and trim on both cards. Such a pretty Bugaboo! And I so enjoyed the visit to your outdoor living space! The moss hanging and the fog make for an absolutely enchanting scene. Again, the video with the birdsong makes me feel like I was really there. Thanks so much for sharing this along with your cards!

Oh Donna I love, love Hydrangeas, I have 3 in my garden two of them are the lace ones, I have been having really large flower heads these last two years but this year it was time for them to be cut back so I might only get smaller heads this year, as I love them so much it was such a pleasure to see that you had used Hydrangeas for your two beautiful creations, I love not only the colours but the way you have built them up to give dimension, the butterfly, sparkle and the sentiment are brilliant so is your video and pictures I love the birds singing it must be so lovely to see this everyday.

Definitely 2 different looks & atmosphere from the same design on this. Love the interesting embossing looks on the white & pink, and the inside, oh wow, with the gorgeously impressive argyl framing. Pink & green have always been favorite colors of mine & it looks very sumptuous on the card as you've done #2. Liked the tip about the glitter to cover tape too! The extra layering of the petals looked so nice & dimensional. Thoroughly enjoyed the misty morning pictures...it looks very mysterious and Merlin like, with the foggy haze hovering. Bet it burned off quickly though, and got quite warm. Lovely surroundings where you are. TFS & Big hugs.

Hallo liebe Donna,

Big Hugs Silvi

Both cards are beautiful. The sponging on the embossing on the white card, and the glitter border peaking out looks awesome. The dark green with the pink is a great color combination, so very pretty. Love the hydrangea images and how you colored them up. I have a plant that I received for Mother's Day a few years ago and planted in our yard, but it has never bloomed outside. It comes back every year and is growing. I have done all the trick to get it to bloom with no luck. My sister Edith had the most beautiful row of them in front of their home in several different colors. Ugh, I must have not gotten the family green thumb............
