Carousel Horse Card Set

Greetings Blogging Friends!
I hope you are all doing well, and that the flooding in the US Southeast is not affecting your families.
For the current Scrapy Land Challenge
a long neglected, never-used Inkadinkadoo stamp "Carousel Horses" is being used in a 6-card set.

The Challenge this fortnight at Scrapy Land is Anything Goes
To enter the challenge follow the theme AND use any die brand that Scrapy Land sells
and become eligible for a fabulous prize and badges!

   Pssst! Did you know...
Scrapy Land has a new Pinterest Account

My project uses the following Scrapy Land products:
The links for these dies are at the bottom of this post.

This simple card was stamped in Danube Blue Memento and colored with Copics.

The pearlescent vellum "beloved stars" die cut was colored on the back with blue Copic Markers.

Unfortunately the camera grabbed purple tones rather than the rosy salmon color in the background cardstock for the easel card below.
The paper is large, round shaped glitter in the background.
The vines are a turquoise vellum.
These old, flat purple heart brads needed a face lift.
Using Pearl EP from Sparkle N Sprinkle, they became transformed.
The naked heart was heated up, then dipped into the jar of EP,
where the EP melted almost immediately.
Heat set the rest, and dip again - two or three times - to build
a more dimensional and pearl looking heart.
Two are used in each upper corner of the white ornate Spellbinders die cut.
Some undesirable colors of cardstock are in my stash.
To change the colors, embossing powders are used.
In this case, the same Pearl EP was used to change the paper
from a neon pink to a metallic rosy.
Here is a before and after photo of the vines.

I love the Spellbinders Labels 46 and Decorative Labels 46. They are so pretty together! I also used the Grand Scallop Squares for the scallop shapes. The card below uses the same die cuts, but they are layered differently:

These were some extra large brads in my stash. I dipped them into some Sparkle N Sprinkle Textured EP twice, then dipped them into Princess Rose EP to create a very interesting texture and color!

The pink burlap looks great with this border set from Spellbinders!

This pretty card is sparkly with rhinestone mesh background from SNS, and a fun embellishment made of the Chloe stem and old rhinestone cluster.

Thanks for stopping by today! Looking forward to seeing your creative designs at the Anything Goes Challenge #27 for the Scrapy Land Challenge.

What a stunning set of cards Donna, clearly lots of time and work has gone into them. Hard to choose favs, but I am rather drawn to the pink one with the lovely texture of the burlap and the green one offset against lilac, a combo I always enjoy.

Thank you Donna for your gorgeous comments on my blog. Now sure why but my commenting links went awol and I have had to reintroduce them all again!!!!

These are some amazing pieces of work Donna each one is so unique and different even though you have used the same stamp. Changing the heart brads and the cardstock was such a clever idea they looked better than they did before.

Off to mooch at what I have missed.

Wow, Donna, you have been super busy! What a lovely set of cards you created! Although all feature the same stamp, each card looks very different from the next. You've used an amazing array of dies and I really enjoyed reading about the techniques used. But I'm sitting here wondering what's wrong with neon pink hehehe! Although all of these cards are beautiful, I have selected the purple lace and the pink burlap as my two favourites! I really like these colour combos with the green, very pleasing to my eye and such wonderful texture. So glad to see you crafting again and I hope you can continue.

Oh, my goodness, Donna!!! These are absolutely exquisite!!!! I love all the gorgeous details. How clever to change the color of the brads and the cardstock with embossing powder. I LOVE playing with EP, so I need to try this. :) The colored vellum is stunning, too. Love how each of these cards has so many unique features though the same carousel horse stamp is used. The love and care you invest in making your cards is so very evident in their beauty. Thanks for sharing them with us!!!!

Donna, you must be feeling super creative! You have out done yourself with this amazing card set. LOVE the stamp - I can understand not using it a lot since it might be limited in what you would use it for, but who could resist it.

I love them all, the details are amazing, but I think the 3rd & 4th..and the 6th are my favorites... hard to pick :) Your tips on enhancing embellishments are fantastic. Oh, I love this set of gorgeous cards for so many reasons. I believe I may even have this carousel horse stamp (or one very similar to it), which I have never used. I'll have to rummage through my stamps to find it and use it now that I've been inspired by you! The tips on how to change your flat brads from blah to fabulous, and to use embossing powder to give a new life to old card stock are my favorite parts of this post! We all have bits of unloved card stock and old embellishments that could benefit from a face lift! I can't wait to see what I can do with my old items and some pretty embossing powder now.

They are all gorgeous Donna. The stamp is fabulous and so many gorgeous dies to make the cards so individual. The colour tones and added embellishments are added perfection.
I have tried to pick a favourite but they are equally gorgeous.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Wow! Look at you with all these fabulous cards with the awesome stamp and all those gorgeous dies! I LOVE your idea for embossing the brads! So easy to heat first and then dip. I've embossed brads with Versamark and EP, but never just heat and dip. Genius! The purple is gorgeous with the lace and I love the rhinestone mesh and the pink burlap. So many different details to love on all the cards! What a delight today, Donna!

What a gorgeous set, real eye candy! The unused stamp sure was put to good use once it got to see ink! I took with me some really great tips too from this post.
It's SO hard to pick a favorite, I love them all. But having trouble myself using green on cards I did have an extra long look at the green horse with purple..

WOW, I go away to as conference and come back to 6 utterly magnificent cards! Incredible work, Donna. I've just added three more die sets to my Wish List (right after a shopping spree at Scrapy Land) and can barely afford to visit your blog. I always find one more thing I want. :-D It's so hard to describe each individual element that grabs me but a few of them are the lace on the purple and green card, the metallic embossing on the die cut flowers, the embossing folder you chose for the blue card, and the pink burlap. Marvelous. Thanks for reminding me about being able to change old brads with heat and EP. Haven't done that for quite a while.
