Leather and Lace

Hi! Do you have a stash of partially started or partially completed card parts in a drawer somewhere? Waste Not Wednesday has a great Challenge to use up those forgotten things. Today's card share was a dark brown panel, with a clear embossed stamp image, waiting for someone to do something with it. I wonder who that someone might be? The image is from PSX - remember the company? I used a technique known as Brilliance Smoosh, using embossing powder and Brilliance Ink pads.

The image was stamped on dark cardstock with Versamark ink. After heating, Sparkle n Sprinkle's Clear Detail Embossing Powder acts as a resist, allowing the brown CS to remain dark under the embossed image. The coloring technique is a fun, easy application of the Brilliance Inks listed near the bottom of this post. They are simply "smooshed" on. For small details, a barely-wet paint brush may be used to pull color off the pads, or a reinker.

The above photo shows the shininess of the inks and EP. It's a little difficult to capture with a camera. The Cosmic Copper is on the flourish as well.

The Moon Light White Ink is a creamy white opaque color which shows up nicely against dark cardstock and darker colors of Brilliance Inks.

In this photo, the various colors of blue, copper, and gold can be seen against the dark cardstock, and complement one another.

On the far right of the card,  the ivory Fleur De Lis Borderabilities die cut is cut in half lengthwise.

Thanks to girlfriend Loretta for gifting me the pretty velvet ribbon. It has an ivory crocheted lace detailing on the right of it.

Card size is A7. Click on any of the images to better see colors or details.

Thanks for stopping by!
